MY OPINION ABOUT CALIFORNIA (living in Newport Beach, Orange County) |

The Orange County in California is really great. It is so great that sometimes you can't believe it : The weather is wonderfull all year long : I mean you can go to the swimming pool everyday with just a swim trunk, get tanned everyday... !!
Everybody is really nice, smilling all the time, "cool attitude", sports, nature. If you watch californian TV shows (like The OC, Drake and Josh...) where everybody is playing guitar, skating, with beautiful girls, well, I guess you are in the OC !
It's tough for a foreigner to be integrated and have american friends, especially if you are french (or mexican ahhaha): frenchies are not the most popular people over there. Sometimes you can get the blues. But once they know that you are not a arrogant french, and that you are here because you love the USA, it's cooooool!
California is like France : You can do everything over there : Shop in big cities, ski at Big Bear, fish in a natural park, go to the Beach, surf, 2 hours from a spanish speaking country, different climates, climb big mountains, have fun, have a lot of friends. A lot of great places where you can go ! (Las Vegas, San Francisco, Sequoia Park...)
All I have heard about California became true when I landed over there. It's not just a reputation (you gotta see my pictures in this chapter...).
I think I should have been Californian because I have exactly the same way of thinking : creative, hard working, having fun and smilling all the time (and I play guitar too :)
For sure I ll go back to this state again !
